Wehave just entered a brave new world. When I started school in 1965, who would have dreamed a virtual world would exist one day where we could meet in the "zone" from home.
The opportunity for our students is endless but there is a tremendous amount of work to do to get our teachers to the point where they can use this technology.
Who knows what will be next.

I agree with you David. Who knows what will be next. Those of us (like me)are slow when it come to new ideas and programs in technology. My son actually thinks that it hilarious that I know little able things such as myspace.
The ways things look, I will need to get with the program.
Dave,
We're all taking the trip together! I'm learning all this too, after the last 3 years being basically off-line in Africa.
Looking forward to learning together.

I think the technology stuff is great....to a point~ I don't think it can ever replace the power of 1:1 relationships. I wonder sometimes if the younger generation will suffer long-term consequences from all the 'short cuts' they can make with texting, chatting, etc....where do manners fit into that lifestyle...and character? Will be interesting to see....
David,
When I grew up and watched the Jetsons cartoon on television, that was how I always pictured the year 2000 being like. Now we are here, even though we are not all traveling in mini-spaceships, I continually marvel at the use of technology in our society today. It is amazing to think of living without the Internet and cell phones today, even though we were just fine without them twenty years ago.
